リスボンの空 ／ Empty Sky In Lisbon

　

　木蔭のベンチに座り、ふと上を見上げた時の風景。 窓の隙間からはひょっとするとこの家の誰かがこっちを見ていたかも知れない。 
　こういう角度の風景画はあまりないと思うし、この古びた建物の装飾も楽しい。 時刻は夜の八時くらいじゃなかったかな？夏だったので日が長く十時くらいまでは、昼間というかんじの明るさだったと思う。
　最初ローマからフィレンツェやトリノに寄ってジェノバに入り、ニースを通ってそのまま地中海の海岸線をバルセロナに行って、イベリア半島の内陸をまっすぐ通ってマドリード、そして今ここにいるリスボン、という長い日程だった。 
　三週間くらいずっと毎日絵を描きながら旅をしていいかげん疲れていた。 制作上のさまざまな疲れだけでなく、旅の移動や分からない言葉、食事、小さなトラブルの数々、楽しいことももちろんあったけど、リスボンに着いた時はようやくこれで日本に帰れるなと思った。 疲れか安堵か、だからベンチに腰掛けて思わず空を見上げたのかも。 ■

　　The scenery when I sit on the bench in the shade and looked up at it.  Perhaps someone in this house might have seen me through the window. 
　　I think there are not many landscapes at this angle, and the decoration of this old building is also fun.  I guess it was about 8 o'clock in the evening. Since it was summer, I think the daytime was bright until about 10 pm.
　　First, from Rome to Florence or Turin, enter Genoa, go through Nice to the Mediterranean coastline to Barcelona,   go straight inland on the Iberian Peninsula to Madrid, and then to Lisbon, which is now here.
　　I was tired to travel while painting every day for about three weeks.  Not only were there a lot of tiredness in the production, but there were of course travel, unfamiliar words, meals, small troubles, and a lot of fun, but when I arrived in Lisbon, I finally thought I could return to Japan.  Tired or relieved, so maybe I sat on a bench and looked up at the empty sky in Lisbon. ■
